Prepping our WRX for a 6,554-mile Road Trip - The Roof Rack

What would you take on a 37-day, 6,554-mile drive across the US? And, what would you put on your itinerary to celebrate America's 250th birthday? You can see our itinerary here.

With 37 days on the road, our team needs to carry a bunch of gear. While the WRX has a backseat, we expect some of our sponsors to join us along the way, so we're adding a roof cargo box.

Step 1 was the roof rack. After a pretty rigorous YouTube research we elected to go with the Subaru OEM rack system. Installation was pretty straightforward, except for finding the right alignment for the set screws.

Step 2 will be an Inno 660 low-profile carrier coming from one of my favorite stores - REI.

We think it will be super practical and look great, as well.
