Day 2 - 2024 Be The One Rally for Veteran Suicide Prevention

From toasty Modesto, California, through San Francisco and across the fog-shrouded Golden Gate Bridge, lunch with a college classmate in Corte Madera, an impromptu stop in Healdsburg looking for the local American Legion post that delivered a meeting with the founder/owner of Bullsnot [https://brownox.com/], a 20-mile side trip along the Avenue of the Giants (Sequoias), ending in cool, foggy Eureka, California.

What a day! By the time I cross the Oregon border on August 4th, I will have driven almost 1,000 miles!

The Corvette continues to attract attention. We get a lot of 'thumbs up' on the road, and someone always comes over to chat when we stop.

The special thing about traveling with the C6 covered in our logo and sponsor logos is the conversations that develop and the people we meet.

America is so varied in regional cultures but so similar in shared values. Having the opportunity to interact with people beyond my normal personal and professional circle is a gift.

The Day 3 run begins at American Legion Fort Humbolt Post 212 in Eureka, CA,

and then on to Newport, Oregon, on Highway 101, hugging the California coast, with a stop at the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
