Day 3
Well, let's just say it was another fun day on the road. Fun, that is, if you like road trips, which I do!
The route was Eureka, California to Newport, Oregon on Highway 101. And what a beautiful drive. Sections of the drive rivaled - no, equaled - California's famed Highway 1 through Big Sur. If you like to drive the twisties, you'll really enjoy this section of 101.
The C6 was super happy. Of course, we have the car set for the track - suspension upgrades - so it loved the curves. And 400 HP meant it wasn't working hard.
Special mention here for Sparco. We installed Sparco Evo seats and 6-point harnesses which meant no lateral movement on the corners.
I'm not sure my wife would agree, but I find these seats comfortable for 6+ hours daily. I've covered 1,058 miles thus far on the trip. Let's see how they feel at 6,000!
I started the day in Eureka speaking with a lady who approached the car as I was packing to leave. She related that her husband was a veteran and had just had surgery at the Veterans Administration for lung cancer.
She and her husband are pleased with the care provided by the VA, which is great to hear.
As a disabled veteran myself, I have always been pleased with my medical treatment from the VA team. As with any medical team, some veterans have had poor experiences and have rightly shared their concerns.
However, I recommend that any veteran with medical conditions and who qualifies for VA care give the VA team a chance. Click the following link to view available resources: https://dven.org/resources.

If you are a veteran, thank you for your service!
If you are a family member, thank you for all you do for the veteran community.
The sunset in Newport, Oregon, was magical. See you tomorrow!
PS; The clam chowder at the Crazy Norwegian in Port Orford, OR ,was superb!
